Marco Bonanomi set the best lap time of the two-day Blancpain GT Series pre-season test at Circuit Paul Ricard, at the wheel of his Honda Racing-entered NSX GT3 Evo by JAS Motorsport.
With more than 44 cars on track, the Italian set his quickest flying lap, a 1:52.765, just as the checkered flag flew at the end of Thursday’s final session.
He narrowly edged out reigning overall champion Raffaele Marciello who shared the No. 88 AKKA ASP Mercedes-AMG GT3 with new co-drive Vincent Abril.
Dennis Olsen’s ROWE Racing entry was the fourth and final car to break the 1:53 barrier, with the German team getting to grips with its new Porsche 911 GT3 R.
Bonanomi's comment : " It has been a great test for Us, We completed all the test points that We planned, found some good set-up for race simulation and Qualifing too. The guys did an awesome job 'cos the car is really nice to drive and the best time of the event give me a big smile. Now We want to see if the performances We had here will match also on the other tracks."
The championship returns to action in four weeks’ time for its first race, the three-hour Endurance Cup opener at Monza.
